Overview Technical Architecture

The technical architecture of the Griffin AI network is organized into three distinct environments, each designed to optimize specific aspects of the network's operations.

1

On-chain Layer

This layer is dedicated to blockchain interactions and smart contract executions. It provides the backbone for secure transactions, smart contracts, and decentralized applications (DApps), and handles essential operations such as identity registration and verification.

2

Off-Chain Layer

Focused on AI, machine learning, and data computation, this layer operates independently of the blockchain to enhance processing speeds and reduce operational costs. It supports intensive computational tasks that are impractical to perform on-chain due to cost or speed limitations. This separation ensures that AI-driven analyses, model training, and data-intensive operations proceed efficiently without overloading the blockchain.

3

Distributed Database

Maintained by a robust network of nodes, this database stores critical operational data necessary for the day-to-day functioning of the network. It ensures that all data — from user transactions to service registry — is reliably stored and readily accessible across the network.

Node operators act as essential conduits linking the on-chain, off-chain, and distributed database environments. They facilitate seamless integration through a peer-to-peer network that distributes data, removes single points of failure, and improves resilience, efficiency, and the speed of AI service delivery.

The identity management system uses blockchain technology and asymmetric cryptography (public/private key operations) to secure node communication and validate actions across the network. This enables nodes to verify identities and authenticate actions without exposing sensitive information.

Originally developed on Ethereum and Solana, the Griffin AI network leverages:

  • Ethereum for robust smart contract capabilities and broad DApp support.

  • Solana for high-performance transaction processing, fast block times, and lower transaction costs — useful for micropayments and high-frequency operations.

Looking forward, Griffin AI plans to expand compatibility to include all major Layer 1 (L1) and Layer 2 (L2) blockchain solutions, enabling AI Agents and DApps to interact with major blockchains and protocols.
